Flexion Distraction

Flexion-Distraction is non-surgical, practitioner-controlled, hands-on therapy for spinal pain conditions. It is low force and uses finesse to restore normal motion to the spine, meaning it is usually a completely painless therapy.

A flexion-distraction table has a movable section under the patient’s lower body to allow the specific movements required to make flexion-distraction possible. This section creates gentle specific traction while it flexes, extends, laterally bends and circumducts (combination of flexion and lateral flexion) This effectively decompresses the area of the spine that is being treated.

Flexion-distraction therapy is clinically proven to reduce pressure inside the spinal disc, widen the spinal canal, reduce pressure on the spinal nerves, and return motions to spinal joints. Flexion-Distraction reduces pain due to disc bulging, disc herniation, slipped disc, ruptured disc, arthritis, facet syndrome, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, general lower back pain, leg pain, sciatica, and much more.
